Requirements for completing the CIT

You have 3 years to complete all requirements for the certificate

  • 48 hours of training (roughly 12 classes) either on-demand or Virtual-Live on Zoom

  • Attend World Trade Day in May (in-person in Denver)

  • Attend the Annual Member Gathering in September (in-person in Denver)

  • Please contact us if you don't live in Colorado and are unable to attend events in-person

World Trade Day is a trade show/conference/networking event in-person in Denver. You'll have the chance to meet and network with trade professionals.

Attend the Annual Member Gathering

This is a networking event held every September in Denver (in-person). We like to recognize our outstanding members and have you get to know the trade community!

Frequently Asked Questions

Most people finish in around a year, but it could take you longer or you may finish sooner depending on how motivated you are and when the virtual live classes you want to take are offered.

You have 3 years from the time you enroll to complete all the requirements.

The Certificate encompasses both market-growth strategy and process development and compliance. 


Market-growth strategy is for small-business owners who are looking to expand their company into international markets and want to understand more about what’s involved.


The compliance program is for anyone already working in logistics or other related areas that need an understanding of compliance rules and regulations. 

We also offer separate badges in both those areas if you prefer to concentrate in just one area. 

Students who are interested in learning more about international trade are also welcome.
